Satellite Solutions Worldwide names new non-exec chairman

(ShareCast News) - Communications company Satellite Solutions Worldwide Group (SSW) has appointed Michael Tobin as non-executive chairman.Tobin, who will replace current non-executive chairman Rodger Sargent, held the role of chief executive at FTSE 250-listed TelecityGroup from 2002 to 2014 and is currently holding various non-executive positions at technologies groups in the USA, Europe and Hong Kong.In a statement released on Tuesday, the London-listed company said Sargent will move to a role of non-executive director.Meanwhile, SSW has also confirmed the appointment of Paul Howard to the board of non-executive directors.Howard, who is currently serving as advisor to Oakley Capital Corporate Finance, spent over 15 years with Cazenove as a telecoms and media analyst, SSW said.I am delighted executives of the calibre of Michael and Paul have come onto our board," said group chief executive Andrew Walwyn."They recognise the opportunity presented to our business by ever increasing consumer demand, government initiatives and necessity of access to the internet."SSW shares were down 0.32% to 4.11p at 1228 BST on Tuesday.
