Rolls-Royce lands order for Trent 1000 engines

FTSE 100-listed Rolls-Royce has won a contract with All Nippon Airways (ANA) to supply Trent 1000 engines to power 25 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.The engines, which are worth $1.1bn, offer the best lifetime fuel burn performance on the 787 Dreamliner and have completed more than 220,000 in-service flying hours, Rolls said. The airline already has 55 of the aircraft in service or on order, all of which are powered by the Trent 1000.Dominic Horwood, Chief Customer Officer, Rolls-Royce, Civil Large Engines, added: "We are proud that ANA, the launch customer for the 787 Dreamliner, has continued to demonstrate its confidence in the performance and economics of the Trent 1000."Hiroyuki Ito, the Senior Executive Vice President of ANA, added that the Trent 1000 "has served us very well through our entry into service and we have received excellent customer support throughout from Rolls-Royce".
