Lewis Booth, a non-Executive Director of Rolls-Royce, has purchased 7,500 shares of the firm´s stock just one week after the company saw underlying earnings come in ahead of forecasts for the first half.Booth, who was appointed to his role in May last year, bought the shares at 875.50p each for a total of £65,662. He now holds 12,500 shares in Rolls Royce. Underlying profit before tax rose by 7.0% from £595m to £637m,in the six months to June 30th, reflecting revenue growth, revenue mix, unit cost reduction and the contribution of Tognum. Analysts at Jefferies were expecting a figure closer to £608m. Underlying revenue increased by 5.0% from £5.46bn to £5.76bn, helped by 5.0% growth in underlying OE revenue (£2.72bn) and 6.0% growth in underlying services revenue (£3.04bn).
