Rolls-Royce bags new Garuda deal

After announcing three contract wins on Tuesday Rolls-Royce announced another big order on Wednesday, with the power systems developer saying Garuda Indonesia Airlines has acquired Trent engines to power six Airbus A330 aircraft.The order, which includes long-term service support, is worth $420m at list prices. Deliveries of the engines will begin in 2012.Earlier this week Rolls-Royce announced that Garuda Indonesia Airlines signed an additional contract for Rolls-Royce to support four leased Trent 700 powered A330-200 aircraft, for the next seven years.The company also announced a 12-year service agreement this week with Sichuan Airlines in a deal valued at $65m plus a deal, worth more than $70m, to provide Lockheed Martin with logistics support for the AE2100 D3 engines for the next six years. The Lockheed contract has a potential value exceeding $260m over the life expectancy of the fleet.
