Rolls-Royce awarded US Marines aircraft contract

Power systems giant Rolls-Royce has won a 50m-dollar one-year contract to support the US Marines Corps fleet of KC-130J air-to-air refuelling tankers.The MissionCare contract covers so-called "sustainment services" for over 200 Rolls-Royce AE 2100 engines, as well as propellers and other propulsion system repairs for the KC-130J fleet. It also covers the deployment of Rolls-Royce Field Service Representatives at multiple bases.MissionCare is a suite of services that the company provides, focusing on increasing propulsion system availability and reducing costs."Our mission is to ensure these aircraft are ready to fly when needed and we continually focus on delivering innovative and cost effective support for our customers," said Paul Craig, President of Rolls-Royce's Defence Customer Services division.The AE 2100 engine is part of Rolls-Royce's AE product family, which has over 5,800 engines in service which have accumulated nearly 60m flight hours.BC
