Rolls-Royce awarded $300m Trent 700 contract with Turkish Airlines

Rolls-Royce said Monday that it has been awarded $300m for the supply of its Trent 700 engines and support services to Turkish Airlines.The engines will power four of the carrier's Airbus A330 freighter aircraft."This is further demonstration of the market's continued demand for both the A330 and the Trent 700," said Dominic Horwood, the chief customer officer of Rolls-Royce's civil large engines division.Turkish Airlines already has 11 A330ceo passenger and five A330 freighter aircraft powered by the Trent 700.In the A330 freighter market alone, the Trent 700 now accounts for 90% of aircraft in service and on order, Rolls-Royce said."We are proud that Turkish Airlines has continued to demonstrate its confidence in the Trent 700's ability to deliver outstanding economic performance," Horwood said.Rolls-Royce shares finished the day up 0.4% at 911.01p.
