Silicon wafer reclaim services provider Pure Wafer said it expected production to be impacted after its facility in Swansea was damaged by a fire."Although the fire has caused significant damage to the site, the facility is fully and comprehensively insured and once a full assessment of the damage has been completed, we will endeavour to resume full production as soon as practicable," said group chief executive Richard Howells."A further announcement will be made in due course, once a full assessment of the damage has been carried out and the impact on production downtime has been ascertained."The blaze broke out on the morning of 21 December Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed 68 firefigthers and eight appliances had been deployed to tackle the fire at the site in Llansamlet Business Park.The fire service added that 18 people had been evacuated from the building before crews arrived on the site."A very successful multiagency operation has now brought the significant fire under control and we have been working with our partners to ensure all environmental and chemical risks have been identified," said Chis Margetts, incident commander area manager for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service.Pure Wafer shares plunged 18.97% to 47.00p at 10:48 on Monday.
