Meat packing firm Hilton Food has traded 'in line' over the year-to-date, despite a challenging consumer environment, as it "continued to benefit from [its] geographical diversity and grow the business."The group - which supplies international food retailers such as Tesco and Ahold - highlight good progress in Western Europe, helped by the continuing recovery in the Swedish economy and a new facility in Denmark which opened three months ahead of schedule.Net debt increased over the period, but grew in line with management expectations, as a result of the Danish investment, including a new robotic store order picking facility to be installed in the second half of 2011."Overall, Hilton is encouraged by the start to the current financial year. The group will continue to explore opportunities to grow the business in both domestic and overseas markets," the statement said.---BC
