DOW JONES NEWSWIRES Program trading slowed last week on the NYSE Euronext's (NYX) New York Stock exchange, while total volume was flat. The daily program trading volume average was 778.7 million shares, or 26.9% of the average total of 2.89 billion shares. Those figures were down from 810.7 million, or 28% of the 2.89 billion-share average volume posted the prior week. The prior-week's results included four days of trading, as markets were closed on Memorial Day. The most active NYSE member firm for program trading last week was Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (GS). It was followed by Morgan Stanley (MS), Barclays PLC (BCS, BARC.LN) and Deutsche Bank AG (DB, DBK.XE).
