Playtech Q4 gross income up 21%

Online gambling software firm Playtech said fourth quarter gross income surged 21% after good performances from casino, Italian poker and as it took a share of profit in William Hill Online. In the four months ended 31 December 2009 gross income rose to €38.5m compared with €31.9m in the previous quarter. Total revenue increased 10% to €30.4m. Casino revenues during the fourth quarter totalled €20.7m, up 12% while Poker revenues during the period rose 3% to €8.4m.Playtech's share of profit in William Hill Online surged 94% to €8.1m after WHO enjoyed a strong performance in the final quarter.Chief executive Mor Weizer said, "The fourth quarter was a solid quarter with strong increases in all business areas. This strong performance has continued in the first three weeks of the year."He added, "The board is very comfortable with market expectations for the year ended 31 December 2009 and looks forward to 2010 with confidence as another significant year of development."
