Passenger numbers up at easyJet

Budget airline easyJet carried 0.8% more passengers in June than the same time last year, although the load factor eased slightly.That increase wasn't as impressive as the previous month's 1.8% jump, but the carrier still ferried almost 4.15m people around during the month.The load factor, which measures how efficiently planes are filled, fell to 86.3% from 86.9%.Passenger numbers for the past 12 months are now up 7.9% year on year at 44.53m, and the load factor has risen 1.9% to 85.2%.In May, easyJet reported an underlying pre-tax loss, which excludes a £13.3m profit from the sale of two Airbus A321 aircraft in February, soared to £129.8m from £48.4m the year before. Revenue rose almost 16% to £1.03bn.
