Obama Postpones Energy Meeting With Senators

Favole Of DOW JONES NEWSWIRES WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)--President Barack Obama is postponing a meeting with a bipartisan group of U.S. senators to discuss energy and climate legislation, the White House said Tuesday evening. The meeting had been scheduled for Wednesday. It's unclear why the meeting is being postponed until an undefined date, the White House said. However, Obama is expected to meet face-to-face Wednesday with U.S. Army Gen. Stanley McChrystal to discuss critical comments the general and his aides made about Obama administration officials in a Rolling Stone story. The energy meeting was schedule so Republican and Democratic senators could hash out details with the president and possibly come to agreement over energy and climate legislation. -By Jared A.
