Norcros says that both its UK and South African operations are continuing to improve their performance. The consumer products supplier owns the Triton showers and Johnson Tiles businesses in the UK. Group revenues in the 17 weeks to the end of January 2011 increased by 16% - or 10% on a constant currency basis. Johnson Tiles has a strong trading period in the UK after a competitor went into administration. Johnson Tiles' exports were lower. The adhesives business grew its revenues by 50% as it added new customers. Triton's revenue growth was more modest at 3.5%. South African revenues were boosted by currency movements but they were still 7.8% higher on a constant currency basis. Again, Johnson Tiles was the biggest contributor to the sales growth. Management believes that new products and increased efficiency will help Norcros to make further progress.
