Oil industry veteran Hugh Mackay is to be the new chief executive officer of Europe-based hydrocarbon explorer Europa Oil & Gas has appointed. Mackay, who will join the company on 10 October of this year, previously held the position of founding chairman at Avannaa Resources, a mineral exploration company focused on grass roots exploration in Greenland. Before that he spent eight years at BP in a variety of roles and 10 years at Enterprise Oil in leadership roles.Bill Adamson, Chairman of Europa, said of Mackay, "his track record shows that he has the right skills and experience in senior management positions, oil and gas project development, and entrepreneurial flair that Europa needs as it enters an exciting period in its development."
