(Sharecast News) - MP Evans said on Wednesday that crude palm oil production increased 11% to 192,300 tonnes in the first half, while palm kernel output rose 11% to 42,100 tonnes.
Fresh fruit bunches harvested from the group's managed areas grew 14% to 705,400 tonnes, supported by higher crops across most estates and contributions from the Bumi Mas areas acquired last year.
The AIM-traded group's own crop increased 13% to 537,500 tonnes and scheme-smallholder output rose 15% to 167,900 tonnes, while purchases from independent suppliers fell 22% to 92,800 tonnes.
Average realised crude palm oil prices edged up to $873 per tonne from $868, while palm kernel prices increased 9% to $813 per tonne.
At 1435 BST, shares in MP Evans were up 6.06% at 1,794p.
