Engineering conglomerate Melrose is to sell its airport baggage handling system operator Crisplant to distribution systems group Beumer for €30m as it continues cutting debt.According to Melrose, Crisplant, which will be sold in the next three weeks, made an operating profit before exceptional costs of €9.1m in the first half of 2009 and had net assets of €32.3m on 30 June 2009.Last month, Melrose said it had reduced its net debt by £127m since 31 December to £416 on June 30.
