Meggitt, the aerospace and defence engineer that joined the FTSE 100 last month, has been awarded a multi-million dollar contract with the US Army.Meggitt Training Systems will - along with four other suppliers - provide equipment for live-five training rages at US Army bases in a contract worth up to $475m over the next five years."Meggitt will manufacture and install stationary and moving infantry and armour target mechanisms and control systems and provide product support," the statement said.Meggitt Training Systems president Ronald Vadas said, "Our selection is testament to the strength of our 15-year relationship with the US Army and we look forward to continuing to respond to its evolving range development and modernisation requirements."BC
