Shares in McBride, which makes personal care and household products for supermarkets to sell under their own name, jumped after it said trading was ahead of expectations in the four months to 25 October.Revenues in the period between 1 July and 25 October rose by 7% from the same period the previous year as shoppers continued looking for higher value.The rise in revenues includes 4% from currency movements. McBride added that margins have improved and that demand has remained strong in the UK and mainland Europe.The firm said it will continue to focus on meeting customers' desire for value products.'We have built on the good start we made to the current financial year,' said chief executive Miles Roberts.'Our markets remain highly competitive and will continue to be so as Private Label continues to perform strongly in its core categories in these difficult economic times.'
