MARKET TALK: Documents On Vivus Panel Coming Tuesday -FDA

9:41 (Dow Jones) Briefing documents for Thursday's FDA panel on Vivus' (VVUS) Qnexa obesity drug won't be released until tomorrow, according to the agency. There was hope documents would be out prior to two-day hearing on GSK's Avandia beginning Tuesday. The documents should provide insights into some key aspects of the committee's agenda, but timing has caused confusion on the Street. On Friday some analysts asserted that the documents would be coming today, while others reported it wouldn't happen until tomorrow. Tone and context of the documents could affect VVUS shares, but also Arena Pharma (ARNA) and Orexigen Therapeutics (OREX) which also have obesity drugs under FDA review.
