A consortium led by Logica, the information technology (IT) contracting specialist, has won a £157m outsourcing deal with the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA). Logica's partners in the i2d consortium are QinetiQ, Detica and Cable & Wireless.The contract runs for 10 years and will cover the provision of a platform for improved collaboration with SOCA's partners, plus the exploitation of intelligence and case management.The programme will also seek to create efficiencies through consolidation of data centres, networks and desktops."This contract secures an efficient and sustainable IT platform which will enable us to modernise and enhance our technological capabilities in fighting crime and improve the effectiveness of UK law enforcement in dislocating criminal markets," said SOCA's director general, Trevor Pearce.
