(Sharecast News) - Nigeria and West Africa-focussed oil and gas exploration and production company Lekoil updated the market on its recent operations in Nigeria on Friday.

The AIM-traded firm said oil production at Otakikpo in January totalled a gross 4,544 barrels and a net 1,817 barrels of oil per day.

It said production in January was free of interruptions.

"Ongoing work for drilling two additional production wells [is taking place], namely the preparation of drillsite and campsite, the movement of rig to well site for warm stack, the engagement of vendors for the procurement of long-lead items, and financial commitments stalling procurement," the board said in its update.

Lekoil said there were no material updates to report from Ogo, or from licences OPL 325 and OPL 276.
