(ShareCast News) - Construction firm Kier Group's joint venture with support service group Carillion has secured one of Highways England's largest Smart Motorway Programme contracts worth up to £475m, the company said on Wednesday.The group said the contracts, awarded as part of Collaborative Delivery Framework, cover the 19-mile stretch of the M6 running from junction 16 to 19 and the M6 running from junction 13 to 15, as well as the M20 between junction 3 and 5 and the M23 from junction 8 to 10.The first stage of the contract on the M6, between junction 16 and 19, is worth £129.5m and is due to begin in autumn 2015, while the remaining packages will be delivered within the next four years, the group said.Kier added that the final target costs for the remaining projects will be agreed with Highways England in "due course"."Investment into the transport infrastructure sector is a key component of the National Infrastructure Pipeline, and this significant award is testament to Kier's growing presence in this arena," said group chief executive Haydn Mursell.Kier shares were up 0.13% to 1,455.92 at 0902 BST.
