Journey Group, which provides catering services and in-flight products to the international airline and travel industries, has landed a contract with JetBlue Airways Corp.The group's US division, Air Fayre, will provide a fresh buy on board and first class offering for JetBlue's predominantly transcontinental flights out of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).JetBlue flies the rountes an average of nine flights per day during low season and up to fifteen flights per day in high season. The new offering will be serviced from Air Fayre's existing Los Angeles facility, where it also currently provides in-flight beverage and snack services for JetBlue's flights out of Long Beach International Airport. It is anticipated the service will start in May this year. Air Fayre has also been selected to design JetBlue's menu for special meals across all of their US operations.Executive Chairman Stephen Yapp said: "I am delighted that Jet Blue continues to increase its confidence in our unique model with the further award of the LAX business. Buy on board is an increasingly important offering for airlines and we have enhanced and tailored our service to meet our client's differing requirements. "Extending our relationship with existing clients is also a key component of the US Division's growth strategy. As we continue to see a growing acceptance of our model, which has already seen flight numbers more than double over the past couple of years through our LAX facility, I am confident that the group is well positioned for growth."
