(Sharecast News) - Software developer IQGeo has secured a "significant new contract" for software and services with an unnamed major Canadian telecoms network operator.
IQGeo said on Tuesday that the new contract had an order value of £1.2m, to be recognised over three years, and was for software licence subscriptions and implementation services.

The AIM-listed group stated that new customer selected its geospatial platform and workflow manager software following an extensive evaluation process

The mystery customer's initial deployment will allow it to efficiently manage its increasingly complex network processes, reducing cost and risk, while improving customer satisfaction.

Chief executive Richard Petti said: "This new customer win is another great example of how the measurable ROI and operational benefits of our geospatial software resonates with major tier-one telecoms operators.

"We are very pleased to see this large network operator join our growing list of customers and we look forward to the initial deployment and the planned rollout of field and office users across their enterprise over the next three years."

As of 0820 GMT, IQGeo shares were up 2.44% at 84.0p.
