IQE, a supplier of advanced semiconductor wafers, on Monday renewed a long-term supply contract worth $50m with an unnamed customer.The new contract is to supply wafer products used in wireless applications and guarantees 75% of its customer's demand.It will cover the supply of epiwafer products for radio frequency applications such as power amplifiers, low noise amplifiers and switches used in smartphones, tablets and computers.Russ Wagner, head of IQE's wireless business unit, said the contract was "clearly indicative of the continuing robust demand for compound semiconductor solutions in the wireless industry".Shares were up 3.16% to 19.86p on Monday at 12:38.
