Iberia, the Spanish airline operating under International Consolidated Airlines Group (otherwise known as IAG), will resume talks with its labour unions on Monday under request by the Service for Interconfederal Mediation and Arbitrage (SIMA). A meeting held last Friday ended with the announcement that six days of labour strikes will be upheld as a protest to the airline's restructuring plan that includes 4,500 job cuts.Iberia hopes the strike will be called off. Nonetheless, the company said it will not allow arm-twisting by what it defined as an "unnecessary and disproportionate" strike, Spanish daily El Pais reports.SB
