FTSE 250 movers: IntegraFin, Serco surge on upbeat results, update

Shares in IntegraFin sparked after it posted a jump in annual revenues and profits despite a volatile first half.

The owner of investment platform Transact saw revenues rise 8% in the 12 months to 30 September, to £156.8m, while underlying pre-tax profits rose 7% at £75.4m. Net inflows to Transact were £4.4bn as at 30 September, a 76% hike year-on-year. Closing funds under direction rose 16% to £74.2bn.

Government contractor Serco rallied as it lifted financial guidance on the back of contract wins and announced the appointment of Proximus chief financial officer Mark Reid to the same role, succeeding Nigel Crossley.

The company said it expected underlying operating profit of £270m, up from prior guidance of £260m, with a margin of 5.5%.

It added that revenues would rise by 2% to around £4.9bn, with 1% organic growth.

"The global government services market is substantial, with high barriers to entry and strong growth prospects, particularly in the defence sector," said CEO Anthony Kirby.

"Our significant order intake, of which around two thirds is in defence, and record pipeline further demonstrate the structural drivers of demand for our services, as governments face ever more complex challenges, and look to partners such as Serco to support them."

International Personal Finance surged as it said the deadline for takeover talks with BasePoint Capital has been extended.
