FTSE 250 movers: Go-Ahead soars on Thameslink win

A joint venture of bus and train operator Go-Ahead and a company part-owned by French state railway SNCF has won the battle to run the new Thameslink rail super-franchise in London and south-east England.The announcement was bad news for rival bidders FirstGroup, which already runs the Thameslink and Great Northern routes, and Stagecoach.BTG shares jumped on the news it has been granted clearance for its EkoSonic Endovascular System treatment of pulmonary embolism (PE) by the US Food and Drug Administration. The minimally invasive treatment carries out the ultrasound-facilitated, controlled and selective infusion of physician-specified fluids, including thrombolytics, for the treatment of PE.Platinum producer Lonmin jumped after it announced that its facilitated mediation with the Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (AMCU) is continuing under the supervision of the Labour Court.After rising earlier this week, Imagination Technologies was at the bottom of the pile today. It yesterday impressed after agreeing two deals to strengthen its MIPS architecture into a more serious competitor for ARM. Polymetal International continued to fall after it yesterday unnerved its investors with the news it has entered into an agreement to acquire Altynalmas Gold for an initial consideration of $318.5m in cash.
