FTSE 250 movers: Bodycote retreats, Enterprise Inns leaps

Bodycote retreated after it said economic growth in both Europe and North America continues to be muted, although it also reported that its organic performance is improving and it is confident of meeting full-year expectations.Spread-betting provider IG Group was lower after it said second-quarter trading had been "satisfactory" despite more subdued markets. In a short pre-close statement, the group said in spite of the more languorous financial markets compared to the first quarter, revenue was slightly ahead of the prior year for the first two months of this quarter and that this trading performance has continued through to the middle of November.Meanwhile, shareholders reacted positively to the news that Enterprise Inns' founder and Chief Executive Ted Tuppen would step down after more than two decades at the helm. The pub group also announced like-for-like (LFL) net income grew by 0.6% in its final quarter, and fell 2.9% for the year. Looking ahead, the group said it believed it had provided "the foundations for delivering sustainable net income growth". Afren, the oil and gas exploration and production company, caused its share price to rocket after reporting that well data indicated the recoverable resources at the Ogo-1 well were "significantly" ahead of pre-drill expectations.
