Takeover rumours continue to dominate the Footsie.There is talk of engineer Invensys becoming the subject of a 350p a share bid from a larger rival, while there is thought to be Chinese interest in Tullow Oil with a £20 a share bid figure suggested. The bid rumour-mongers appear to have moved on from Cable & Wireless Worldwide, which has been hit by profit-taking. Barclays is lower after it was confirmed that Bob Diamond is going to take over as chief executive next year. He will succeed John Varley. BAE Systems is paying an initial $25m for US-based OASYS Technology.
