FTSE 100 movers: Computacenter rallies on upgrade; Vodafone in the red

(Sharecast News) - London's FTSE 100 was down 0.5% at 10,546.78 in afternoon trade on Monday.

Computacenter was the standout gainer on the index after Berenberg upgraded the shares to 'buy' from 'hold' and hiked the price target to 5,300p from 3,450p following the company's first-half trading update.

"While the shares have performed outstandingly since the H125 results in September, we think the company still has the potential to meaningfully beat current consensus profit estimates as a significantly higher proportion of gross profit drops through to operating profit," the bank said.

"We upgrade our FY26, FY27 and FY28 forecasts for gross profit by 4%, 5% and 6% respectively and for adjusted operating profit by 17%, 15% and 17% respectively."

Segro was in the black, recovering from losses earlier in the day after it rejected a sweetened £13.5bn approach from US logistics giant Prologis, calling the latest approach "opportunistic".

Prologis made its fresh offer of 0.089 new Prologis shares for each Segro share late last week. It includes a partial cash alternative of up to £2.7bn and values Segro at 993p per share, a 6% increase on its first proposal.

Prologis confirmed the approach - its third since early June - had been rejected, and urged shareholders to back the offer, arguing that the Segro assessment of its own value was "unrealistic".

Experian gained as Citi nudged down its price target on the stock due to the US dollar having weakened, but said it remains a buyer because it believes that AI-driven productivity can deliver attractive margin progression in North America.

On the downside, Vodafone fell. Shares in the telecoms group surged earlier this month after French billionaire Xavier Niel agreed to buy Emirates Telecommunications Group's entire stake for £4.4bn.
