(Sharecast News) - Britain's accounting watchdog has started a probe into Deloitte over its auditing of troubled bus and rail operator Go-Ahead.

The investigation by the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) covers Deloitte's work on Go-Ahead's accounts over a six-year period to 2021.

Deloitte said it would co-operate fully with the FRC investigation.

Go-Ahead last December revealed that an independent review had discovered "serious errors" by its London and Southeastern railway franchise, LSER, which led to it overcharging the taxpayer over several years. The company was fined £23.5m by the UK government as a result.
