Fidelity Worldwide Investment (FWI) has appointed a former Barclays senior executive as the new boss of its UK business.Fidelity said Peter Horrell would become managing director of its £70bn UK arm, which provides professional investors, financial intermediaries, employers and personal investors with funds, tax wrappers and administration services.Horrell was wealth and investment management chief executive of Barclays until recently, having spent the last 24 years at the UK banking group.Horrell, who spent his first 12 years at Barclays in a variety of roles in the corporate bank, oversaw more than £180bn in assets under management at its wealth division, which provides private banking, investment management, brokerage and fiduciary services to more than 1.5m private clients and financial intermediaries worldwide.FWI's financial services president Thomas Balk said: "Peter Horrell and Fidelity make a great partnership."
