(Sharecast News) - Construction output across the eurozone increased to a six-month high in October, according to data out on Thursday from Eurostat, fully offsetting declines the previous month.
The construction production index for the single-currency region rose to 103.1 in October, up 0.9% from 102.2 in September, which saw a 0.8% decline.
This was the index's highest level since April, and 0.5% higher than last October.
Building construction increased 0.3% over the month, while civil engineering output rose 1.7% and specialised construction activities rose 0.8%.
The biggest monthly increases in output were seen in Slovenia (+6.0%), Germany (+3.3%) and Portugal (+3.1%), while the largest declines were registered in Slovakia (-3.7%) and France (-0.7%).
