EasyJet September traffic rises but load factor dips

(Sharecast News) - Budget airline EasyJet posted a 14.2% rise in passenger numbers for September on Thursday, but the load factor ticked lower.Passenger numbers rose to 8.8m last month from 7.7m in September 2017, while the load factor - which gauges how full the planes are - declined to 92.8% from 93.6%.On a rolling 12-month basis, traffic was up 10.2% to 88.5m passengers and the load factor pushed up to 92.9% from 92.6% in September last year.EasyJet said the September passenger statistics include Tegel operations. Meanwhile, non-Tegel passenger growth is in line with the figures provided in its pre-close statement last week, with load factors for September broadly flat compared to 2017.The airline said last week that it expected to deliver full year pre-tax profit of between £570m - £580m, in the upper half of previous guidance and despite the impact of strike action and air traffic restrictions across Europe.
