easyJet sees rise in passengers but fall in load factor

Low-cost carrier easyJet saw a 2.5 per cent increase in passengers in April compared to the last year.The airline carried 5.2m passengers last month, up from 5.1m for the same month a year earlier. However, the load factor - the number of passengers as a proportion of the number of seats available for passengers - fell to 86.7% from 89.3%. The company said load factors last month were broadly flat year-on-year after adjusting for the timing of Easter and the impact of French air traffic control strikes in April 2012.RD
