Easyjet passenger numbers up

Easyjet, the no-frills airline, saw a 9.1 percent growth in passengers for June. In June of this year 4,952,305 people flew with the airline compared to 4,537,959 in the same month last year.Over the last 12 months the budget carrier has flown 53,356,353 passengers; that's up from 47,637,797 this time last year, a rise of 12 percent.The news will be some comfort for the airline, although it still faces a difficult future as fuel costs soar. It doubled its losses for the six months which ended 31st of March 2011, from £79m to £153m, mostly on increased fuel costs.In early trading Easyjet was up 0.79 percent.BS
