EasyJet May traffic up 1.8%

Budget airline easyJet posted a 1.8% rise in passengers in May as travellers continued taking advantage of low cost fares amid difficult economic conditions. The firm flew 3.95m passengers during the month, compared with 3.88m last May.Load factor, which represents the number of passengers as a proportion of the number of seats available for passengers, edged up slightly, to 85.5% from 83.2%.In the full year to the end of May, 44.5m passengers flew with easyJet, compared with 40.6m the previous year.
