Director dealings: Union Jack directors up stake

(Sharecast News) - Union Jack Oil executive director Joseph O'Farrell purchased 35.29m ordinary shares as part of the London-listed firm's placing on Wednesday.O'Farrell, a former director at both OilQuest and Nighthawk at the time of their AIM floatations, acquired the shares at an average cost of 0.85p, for a total value of £300,000.Earlier in the day, Union Jack agreed to acquire a 16.667% stake in the West Newton gas discovery and, in order to support the transaction, revealed it would be raising £2.25m of new capital.The firm agreed to a transaction with Rathlin Energy, a subsidiary of Canadian outfit Connaught Oil and Gas, via a farm-out that commits Union Jack to cover 25% of the cost of an appraisal well at the Yorkshire asset.Non-executive director Raymond Godson also picked up some shares on Wednesday, upping his stake by 11.76m at a cost of 0.85p each, for a total value of £100,000.As of 1630 BST, Union Jack shares had picked up 0.57% to 0.09p.
