(Sharecast News) - A director of Asia-focused investment company Symphony International Holdings continued to ramp up his investment in the company on Friday, purchasing a further $200,000 of shares.

Anil Thadani, who serves as a director of Symphony International Holdings as well as the chairman of the investment manager Symphony Asia Holdings Pte, bought 500,000 shares at a price of $0.40 each.

The transaction was his eighth share purchase so far this year, with the director having now bought over 6.4m shares for a total of $2.52m. The share price hwas fallen around 16% over the year to date.

The latest purchase comes just a week after SIH's first-half results, which revealed the company had swung to a net loss of $13.6m over the six months to 30 June, compared with a $11.9m profit a year earlier. Net asset value fell to $0.83 a share from $0.88.
