Director dealings: New Costain chairman makes first purchase

(ShareCast News) - Costain's newly appointed chairman Paul Golby purchased more than £111,000 worth of shares in the engineer on the day it released strong first-half trading update. Golby, formerly chief executive and chairman of big-six energy provider E.On, bought 35,000 shares at a price of 317.44p per share.Costain said trading during the first half has been strong and that it was on course to deliver an annual result in line with expectations.A record order book of £3.9bn is also over 5% higher than a year ago, with repeat orders continuing to represent more than 90% of the order book. The group also has a preferred bidder position of over £400m and tendering levels remain high.
