Director dealings: Hikma trio building dominant stake

(ShareCast News) - Hikma Pharmaceutical's founding family, led by including chairman and chief executive Said Darwazah, have spent another £6m buying shares in the drug maker in the last few days.Darwazah, his brother and vice chairman Mazen, and non-executive Ali Al-Hursy, who also has an equity stake in the Darhold family investment vehicle, all bought 50,000 shares at a price of 2,099p apiece on Friday.The CEO now has an equity stake of 21.49%, his brother 10.82% and Al-Hursy 7.95%.September has seen the trio spend well over £12m, having also last week each purchased 50,000 stock at 2,138p on Wednesday.The two Darwazahs and Al-Hursy bought 50,000 each the Friday before at 2,119p, following purchases of 70,251 each at 2,122p on Thursday, 15 September.The Friday before that, each bought 150,000 at 2,162p, after on Tuesday having bought 155,991 apiece at 2,194p.On 1 September each spent £1m as the pharmaceutical group's share price slumped to its lowest level since early April, all three purchased 140,000 shares at 2,150p.In a trading update on 24 August Hikma said it expected to produce full-year revenue of at least $2bn after a jump in first-half revenues, although interim operating profits were lower.Claiming a transitional year as it integrates its West-Ward Columbus acquisition, operating profits slipped to $176m from $204m due to a lower contribution from the generics business.
