Telecommunications and IT services provider Coms has announced a 'lucrative partnership' with Live Telecoms for a SIM-only brand called PhoneAfrika mobile. PhoneAfrika offers customers cheap call rates when UK residents dial African numbers and reduced price calls when travelling overseas.Coms cited recent figures as showing that the British population of Africans has doubled in the last 10 years from 0.8% to 1.7%, with a total of 1m in London alone.Live Telecoms will also be given access to Coms' wider product portfolio, including residential and business calls, lines and broadband packages.Under the initial two-year agreement, Coms will supply Live Telecoms with 50,000 SIMs. If the average revenue per user from these SIMs reaches £20 per month, the contract will be worth £12m to Coms each year."We are delighted that Live Telecoms is partnering with Coms Mobile; Live Telecoms turned to us as they recognised that we are able to offer them reliability, marketing expertise, technical support and that we have access to a large network coverage area," said Chief Executive David Breith. The stock was up 1.5% at 6.8p in early trading on Monday.BC
