(Sharecast News) - Shipping firm Clarkson said on Wednesday that chairman Bill Thomas had abounded his intention to step down from the role.
Clarkson stated that as he approaches the end of his three-year tenure, Thomas had formally decided to focus on other roles and activities and will not offer himself for re-election at the company's annual general meeting in May 2022.

Thomas has agreed to stay on until a successor can be appointed and will step down from the position and the board at that time.

Chief executive Andi Case said: "I would like to thank Bill for his leadership of the board over the last three years, during what have been unprecedented times. The company is in robust financial health and well placed for the next phase of its development. Bill leaves with our best wishes for the future."

As of 0855 GMT, Clarkson shares were down 0.14% at 3,650.0p.
