Capita broadens academic offering

Outsourcing firm Capita Group has acquired Talis Information, a provider of management software and managed services to the academic sector.Capita is paying £18.5m upfront for Talis, with an additional £2.5m due, depending on Talis's performance in the year to 31 March."The acquisition will add valuable new expertise and capabilities to Capita's existing products for the academic and public sector," the company statement claimed.Talis has a range of around 100 academic and public library clients. In the year to 31 March it made an operating profit, on a pro-forma basis, of £3.5m on turnover of £7m.
