BP Denies Report That CEO Hayward Is Stepping Down

LONDON (Dow Jones)--A BP PLC (BP) spokeswoman Monday denied a report that Chief Executive Officer Tony Hayward would soon resign from the company. "Tony Hayward remains chief executive," spokeswoman Sheila Williams said. The company's board of directors isn't discussing his removal or replacement, she added. Earlier, Reuters reported comments from Russia's top energy official, Igor Sechin, saying he expects Hayward will soon resign.
