Avanti Communications wins contract with South Africa telecoms operator

Satellite communication services provider Avanti Communication Group has been awarded a multi-year contract with South Africa state-owned telecoms operator SENTECH.The London-listed company did not reveal any financial details of the contract, although it said the deal will see it provide satellite coverage using its HYLAS Ka-band satellite."The award of such an important contract for the delivery of vital connectivity to public sector users in South Africa is a strong indication of Avanti's competitive advantages," said group chief executive David Williams.Avanti shares were down 0.17% to 216.62p at 08:29 on Tuesday.
