Temporary power and temperature control provider Aggreko has been contracted to provide temporary power generation services for the 2010 Asian Games and Asian Para Games.Under the terms of the $30m contract Aggreko will provide around 65 megawatts of power generation and associated distribution to 16 stadia plus the International Broadcast Centre. Both events will be staged in Guangzhou, China, with the Asian Games taking place from 12th - 27th November and the Para Games taking place from 12th - 19th December.Aggreko will provide all aspects of the power packages, including design, mobilisation, installation, operation and maintenance.Rupert Holmes, chief executive officer of Aggreko, was predictably cock-a-hoop at completing a hat-trick of the world's biggest sporting events: the FIFA World Cup, the Olympics and, now, the Asian Games."This success is the result of the talented team of events professionals we have brought together in Aggreko and the tens of millions of pounds we have invested to serve these large events," Holmes said.
