Green fuel supplier Active Energy Group (AEG) has unveiled a new system for turning biomass into pellets, boosting its shares.AEG plans to use the technology to turn sawdust and other industrial and farming by-products into fuel granules for use in power-generating household boilers and bigger power plants.The company has done a global licensing and partnership deal with the inventors of the system to develop it from pilot stage to full commercialisation.It plans to use the technology, which it hopes will be cheaper and more efficient than existing equipment, in a newly developed pilot plant in Belfast.Chief Executive Richard Spinks said: "We're confident the pilot plant we're unveiling today will amply demonstrate the potential of a full-scale commercial system."Shares in Active climbed 0.15p or 9% to 1.8p at 13:27 in London.PW
