(Sharecast News) - Active Energy announced on Tuesday that it has signed a strategic distribution agreement with Fog Hashing, giving it distribution rights across the Gulf Cooperation Council region for modular digital infrastructure used in high-performance computing, artificial intelligence and digital asset hosting.

The AIM-traded company said the agreement would improve access to infrastructure, deployment expertise, technical support and commercial purchasing terms as it expands its portfolio of ultra-low-cost power-connected sites in the UAE and wider GCC.

It said the partnership should help shorten the time between securing grid-connected locations and deploying revenue-generating digital infrastructure.

"This is more than a supply agreement," said chief executive Paul Elliott.

He added that the modular nature of Fog Hashing's platform supported both current hosting applications and future AI and HPC opportunities, and said the deal represented another step in establishing Active Energy as a recognised digital infrastructure platform across the GCC.

At 1139 BST, shares in Active Energy Group were up 2.05% at 0.1p.
